Tekken Tag Tournament (鉄拳タッグトーナメント Tekken Taggu Tōnamento^?) (commonly abbreviated as Tekken Tag and TTT)^[2] is the fourth main installment in Namco's Tekken fighting game series. It, however, is not canonical to the Tekken storyline.

Tekken Tag Tournament was originally released as an arcade game in 1999 before becoming a launch title for the PlayStation 2 in 2000. The arcade version operated similarly, but ran on a 32-bit graphics engine like Tekken 3. It received upgraded graphics when it was ported to the PlayStation 2. Its sequel Tekken Tag Tournament 2 was released in 2011. A remastered version of the game titled Tekken Tag Tournament HD was released for the PlayStation 3 in November 2011, as part of Tekken Hybrid

Gameplay

Continuing the fighting mechanics from Tekken 3, Tekken Tag Tournament sees players battling in teams of two characters. At any point in the match, the player can hit a tag button to swap out with their other fighter, allowing the resting fighter to recover some lost health. The tag can be implemented in many ways, such as in between combos or utilizing special throws. At times when a resting fighter's lifebar is flashing, that character can be tagged in to be given a temporary boost in strength. Unlike other tag games such as Capcom's Vs. series, players are defeated when only one of their fighters lose all of their health, requiring players to be strategic about tagging their fighters. In the event of a timeout, the team with the most accumulative health remaining wins the round.

The game features over 35 characters that previously appeared in Tekken 2 and Tekken 3. In addition, there is a boss character, Unknown, who is similar to Tekken 3's Mokujin in that she can randomly imitate any character's fighting style, albeit she is able to change her style any time during the fight. The PlayStation 2 version added enhanced graphics and various modes, including 1-on-1 mode, in which players only choose one fighter each, and Team Battle, where players choose up to eight battles and play with the tag rules, with each new character replacing the one that was defeated (the remaining fighter must fight on his/her own). Also featured is the "Tekken Bowl" mode, a bowling minigame where each character has different attributes.

The arcade and console versions of Tekken Tag Tournament differ slightly. The arcade version ran on a 32-bit engine, utilizing the graphics engine of Tekken 3. These graphics ran using the Tekken 3 PCB board, based on the PlayStation hardware. The console version ran on a highly updated engine, utilizing the PlayStation 2's graphics processor. The game does not run on a 32-bit engine, yet on a new and updated engine highly similar to that found on Tekken 4. The background designs and BGMs differed too, as the console version has new updated tracks, while the arcade version was based on MIDI tracks with an instrumental backing. Unknown is not playable on the arcade version, yet the character is on the PlayStation 2 version. The arcade version also allows players to only select the alternative colors that have been added to the costumes at first, while the normally colored ones are unlocked when the bonus characters are. There are also crucial differences concerning the playability of the characters, as some moves or attacks are much more efficient in the arcade version than in the console version and vice versa.

USB Type-C, commonly known as simply USB-C, is a 24-pin, fully reversible plug USB connector system allowing transport of data and energy.^[1]

The USB Type-C Specification 1.0 was published by the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) and was finalized in August 2014.^[2] It was developed at roughly the same time as the USB 3.1 specification.

A device that implements USB-C does not necessarily support USB 3.1 or USB Power Delivery

At last, the new USB Type-C connector is ready for mass production. It will come with reversible ends, featuring the same small connector on either end. But it means so much more for new smartphones, tablets and even laptops.

The new Type-C will mean faster charging, quicker data transfer rates and thanks to the smaller connectors, smaller phones can be made too. The Type-C plug is compatible with the USB 3.1 standard meaning super fast data transfer rates.

Now that Apple has included the Type-C port on its new MacBook, you can expect to start seeing it everywhere soon.

Faster charging, smaller gadgets

The big sell for most users is going to be faster charging. Type-C can deliver power at up to 100 watts at 20 volts. This means that larger devices can now be charged from USB, including laptops and monitors. Say goodbye to the clunky AC adapters we've been lugging around until now.

In real world use this will mean much faster charging of compatible mobiles, tablets and now even laptops. This can be done while transferring data at the same time, something previous standards could not always manage.

This should also mean the need for a separate power port (with large innards) will be gone, allowing manufacturers to make even smaller laptops, for example.

Batter and New  connections

The only downside to a new USB is the need for all new gadgets to fit it. While these gadgets can be smaller, thanks to smaller USB ports, it will mean older kit becomes outdated.

USB will be offering an adapter of course, but if Apple's Lightning connector change is anything to go by, these won't be used for long. And like the Lightning connector, Type-C should work either way up with an 8.4mm by 2.6mm connector end.

There will be plenty of adapters, making Type-C backwards compatible so anyone can adopt it immediately.

Type-C will have a similar-sized end to the smaller end of current USB 2.0 cables, except it will be like that at both ends. This is an 18-pin connector which, it’s claimed, will last the same 10,000 cycles as Micro-USB does.

Good data bandwidth

Type-C is compatible with up to 10Gbps data transfer rates. That means a full movie can be transferred in a single second, theoretically. With wireless data being used more often but being limited, this new USB standard may cause a resurgence of cable connection use as super high-speed data rates are required for things like gaming on tablets connected to TVs.

The Type-C connector has been designed so that it can be scaled with future developments in speed, meaning the shape itself shouldn't need to change again for a long time.

When can we expect to see USB Type-C?

It's already starting to appear. The new 12-inch Apple MacBook, for instance, is void of all but two sockets: the new USB Type-C and the 3.5mm headphones jack. Those worried that the move means that nothing will be able to be plugged in shouldn't be, as there are USB Type-C adapters to help you get the most of your old wired gear, such as a basic USB to USB Type-C adapter for £15 / $19.

Google also recently unveiled a new Chromebook Pixel that uniquely features USB Type-C. But it doesn't just have one Type-C port; it has one on each side, thus making the machine more convenient than the new MacBook. A virtual reality headset is a heads-up display (HUD) that enables users to experience and interact with simulated environments through a first-person view (FPV).360-degree VR simulates an environment that surrounds the user, affording them the freedom to look around just as they can in ordinary reality.

VR headsets create a convincing replacement of the user’s environment with virtual reality content, such as a movie, a game or prerecorded content from a 360-degree capturing camera.

Although virtual reality has been around for years, the hardware to experience it has been lacking in the consumer market. The use of multiple projectors was fairly effective but was an expensive, bulky, power-hungry and hot way to experience VR. VR headsets and VR smartphone apps use technology such as gaze tracking, IR sensors, gyroscopes and accelerometers to move the user’s view naturally. They often include stereo, surround or even 3D sound. Much development goes into improving these systems and eliminating latency to reduce disorientation, headaches and nausea.

There are two main types of VR headsets currently available to the consumer market. High-end systems involve a headset that plugs into a high-performance PC for content, while less complex devices are designed to hold the user’s smartphone, which displays VR content. Some smartphone-based VR systems are designed to fasten onto the user’s head while others are handheld. Despite their simple nature, devices like these can make for a surprisingly compelling experience and offer the benefit of greater portability.

Current and upcoming VR headset competition:
Oculus Rift is the computer-based system that reignited interest in virtual reality when the Oculus VR startup launched their wildly successful Kickstarter campaign. Rift works with positioning technology that lets the user move physically through 3D space and has an X-box One controller as well as Touch controllers for virtual hands.

Microsoft’s Hololens is a standalone VR headset. The system features 3D spatialized sound, Wi-Fi, a Kinect-like camera with a 120-degree spatial sensing system, a fleet of gyroscopes and accelerometers and a transparent screen for each eye, all combined in a lightweight, mobile and cool wearable system. 

The HTC Vive plugs into a powerful gaming PC for its performance. Dual base stations allow users to move freely through a 15' X 15' area. The system was developed collaboratively with Portal, a video game software company.

PlayStation VR works with PlayStation 4 rather than a PC. The system duplicates the headset VR display on a TV.

Samsung Gear VR is basically a fancy container for a smartphone that relies on the phone's hardware. The system, which works with high-end Samsung Galaxy models, was developed in collaboration with Oculus VR.
